Synthetic Milk — A Menace for Human Health

Milk constitutes an important and vital dietary component required for human body, especially to the large vegetarian population, as it is a complete food. But its constituents can be replaced partially or almost fully by unscrupulous people for theirfinancial benefit through adulteration or preparation of a synthetic milk using cheaper non-food and other food constituents which makes synthetic milk a health hazard. Therefore, we should first become conversant with the general characteristics of natural milk, adulterated milk and synthetic milk as well as its likely detection at household level apart from at the laboratory level.
