Milk production during 2004-05 is expected to be 92.2 million tonnes, maintaining India's position as the world's largest producer of milk. This production volume brings with it enormous challenges to collect, chill, pasteurize, package and distribute milk across the length and breath of India. This also imposes a great responsibility on the Indian Dairy Industry to improve the quality of packaging across the milk chain.
