Regional cooperation and Indian dairy industry.

摘要

This paper discusses the importance of regional cooperation to the Indian dairy industry. The discussion tackles the development of multilateral trade agreement, WTO agreement on agriculture, the DOHA round of negotiations, regional cooperation in dairying in Asia and Africa, free trade and other regional agreements, agreements on South Asia free trade area (SAFTA), the India-Sri Lanka free trade agreement and safe guards in free trade agreements. The article stresses that India should declare all dairy products as special and sensitive and should forge regional alliance with countries in Asia and Africa, not limiting to trade but covering technical cooperation in development, research and training..
