New consituent from the roots of Terminalia arjuna: Antifungal agent

摘要

Evidences are presented for the structure of a new compound, 2#alpha#, 19#alpha#-dihydroxy-3-oxo-olean-12-en-28-oic acid-28-O-#beta#-D-glucopyranoside which occurs together with known substances #beta#-amyrin and friedelin in the roots of Terminalia arjuna. Biological screening of the compound reveal antifungal activity.
