The Vijaipur unit of M/s National Fertilizers Ltd.operates two natural gas based ammonia plants and two corresponding urea plants.The plants were commissioned in December 1987 and March 1997,respectively.Over the period of time,continuous measures have been taken towards improving energy efficiency of Line-l group of plants.But during the last couple of years,the unit took series of measures which have given a big boost to energy savings.To achieve this success,the unit identified and implemented schemes that needed lower investment and short implementation period.The article brings out all these steps,taken through in-house initiatives.The article also presents information regarding schemes at various stages of implementation.
