Bucket Elevators Used for Fly Ash Handling in The Cement Industry: Some Problems and Recommended Solutions

Conveying of fly ash poses certain challenges. However, BHP-Rexnord elevators have been used to solve this problem in the cement industry. In many Installations all over the world these elevators have provided better service chain life than that obtained from other manufacturers. Various process or equipment oriented options are available which when combined with our elevators can convey PPC with low operational problems and optimum life of elevator and chain. Variations in flow rate and fly ash content can compromise even the best equipment. A balanced system plan must be maintained. Proper selection, operation and routine maintenance of bucket elevators contribute largely to the success of the material handling system.
