The conveyor chain, especially for use in bucket elevators in the cement industry, has steel or cast steel inner links (1) connected by outer links (2). The inner links have two longitudinal bars (5, 6) connected at their ends by cross-bars (3, 4) which have raised anti-wear surfaces (7) on the sides which face the drive wheels and those which face away from them. An independent claim is included for a method for making the chain.
