摘要

The total soil nitrogen was found to decrease with increased levels of soil moisture condition (20%, 40% and 70%) and time of reaction (7, 15 and 30 days) whenlno treatments of DDT and BHC were given. In presence of DDT and BHC, except at 30 days timeof reaction and at 0.001 mg of the active ingredients of DDT and BHC per 100 g soil, in all other concentrations of the chlorinated hydrocarbons and time of reaction, the total nitrogen of soils recorded lower values than the respective control values.Thus generally both DDT and BHC at 0.001 mg/100g soil (in relation to active ingredients of DDT and BHC) had comparatively no toxic effect at 70% moiture level on the soil processes which maintain total soil notrogen status.
