INFN-CNAF Tier-1 status report

摘要

INFN CNAF is the National Center of INFN (National Institutefor Nuclear Physics) for research and development in the field of information tech-nologies, applied to high energies physics experiments. In the year 2005, the ItalianTier-1 for the LHC experiments, located in a 1000 m~2 hall in Bologna, has been in-augurated at CNAF. It represents the most relevant computing centre of INFN andone of the most important centres for distributed computing in Italy. During thesubsequent years the centre has considerably grown up in terms of computing powerand storage space, making an infrastructural upgrade necessary, together with sev-eral technological studies aimed at identifying suitable software solutions to standthe progressive increment of resources. This paper describes the current status ofthe centre, focusing on the recent innovations introduced at both infrastructural andsoftware layers.
