Automation and Robotics - Applications in Agriculture and Allied Disciplines

The Karnataka State Centre of the Institution organized a two-day All India Seminar on 'Automation and Robotics - Applications in Agriculture and Allied Disciplines' under the aegis of Agriculture Engineering Division, IEI, during September 20-21, 2013 at Bangalore. The Chief Guest, Dr K Narayan Gowda, Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, in his inaugural address, stressed the need for innovative devices for the betterment of farming community. Dr C Amarnath, former Professor, IIT Bombay and Dr Jaywanth H Arekari, HSc, Bangalore, graced the occasion as Guests-of-Honour and stressed on the role of engineering sciences to mechanize the farming to suit the Indian conditions.
