The Kerala State Centre of the Institution in association with Kerala Nodal Centre of Safety and Quality Forum (SQF) of IEI conducted a Seminar on the topic 'Nuclear Power Reactors -Safety Aspects and Challenges' on March 30, 2011 at Thiruvananthapuram. The crisis at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station in Japan due to the earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011, had created fear around the world on nuclear power safety.
