Source/description: HTR (5-hydroxytryptamine receptor, 5-HT receptor) genes have been shown to be involved in emotional dysfunction as well as affective and gastrointestinal disorders. In horses, HTRs are of special interest due to their presumed involvement in gastrointestinal (GIT) disorders, which are one of the major causes of equine death. Here, we report the chromosomal assignments of the equine HTR1B, HTR2A, HTRS A, HTR6 and HTR7 genes using RH mapping and FISH.
