The General Motors Technical Center, in the Detroit suburb of Warren, Mich., has received more architectural accolades than any other GM structure. The Tech Center is a 320-acre campus, encompassing 25 buildings arranged in five groups around a rectangular pool. The lake is surrounded by weeping willows and embellished with islands and a sculpture by Alexander Calder.
