Showcase Saudi phosphate JV almost complete, ammonia unit tested

LONDON (ICIS)--The finishing line is in sight for the construction of the state-of-the-art ammonia plant at the huge export-oriented Waad Al Shamal phosphates facility, project leader Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) announced on Tuesday. In a brief stock exchange filing, the company said the Saudi ammonia facility was 97.7% complete as of 30 June, versus 92.3% finished on 30 March, while the diammonium phosphate (DAP) unit was 66.1% complete, compared to 58.5% built three months earlier.
