摘要

The overall goal of the project was to evaluate the effectiveness of a wet electrostatic precipitators (ESP) for SO(sub 3) control for fossil fuel-fired power plants. Specific objective were to determine whether a wet ESP will effectively control aerosol/fine particulate emissions from the MET NH3-based FGD. To accomplish this objective, the following were done: An NH3-based FGD absorber tower and a dry and wet ESP were installed at the EERC. Flue gas was generated with an existing 2.5-MMBtu/hr (2.6 Epsilon 10(sub 6) kJ/hr) pilot-scale SFS Combustor; Aerosol and particulate matter were characterized at the inlet and outlet of each air pollution control device (APCD); and A humidification system was installed to determine the impact of humidification on SO(sub 3) emissions.
