5G new radio (NR) systems need channel coding algorithms that provide high throughput, less power consumption, and high error-correction capabilities. Polar coding has been chosen as a channel coding technique for the next generation of mobile and cellular broadband standards since it gives higher reliability, lower computational complexities, and decoding latencies. This paper investigates the performance of a cyclic redundancy check-aided (CA) polar coding technique with channel code rate matching for enhanced error correction capabilities and it models quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) of the additive white Gaussian noise link. The simulation results present the relationship between the channel code rates and the block error rates, bit error rates, and signal-to-noise ratios obtained in the CA polar coding technique for various QAM orders and suggest the channel code rates to achieve optimum performance.
