US Geological Survey, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and California State Employees Attend Environmental Extremist Conference.In November 2000, a group of environmental extremists came together for a one-day conference in San Diego, California, to discuss the "need" to lock up additional lands in California for "biological diversity." The conference was sponsored by the California Wilderness Coalition, The Nature Conservancy, the Center for Reproduction of Endangered Species, California State Parks, and the Biological Resource Division of the US Geological Survey, according to the conference literature.
