The 2008 Global Automotive Executive Survey shows that concerns around insolvencies and bankruptcies, as well as worries relating to overcapacity, are beginning to diminish. It also reveals that profitability expectations are starting to grow, and growth in China has been faster than expected. These positive changes have occurred against a background of a difficult economic climate, including high oil prices and contracted credit. As such, the importance of the turnaround in mood cannot be underestimated.
