摘要

The constantly increasing demand for environmental protection, human safety and comfort in modern vehicles requires an increasing number of mechatronic systems in the vehicles. Therefore, it is now common for medium-sized and luxury cars to have more than 50 Electronic Control Units (ECUs) connected to various data buses. These systems have to fulfil a growing number of functional as well as non-functional requirements. Additionally, they depend on each other on different levels. Therefore, the challenges for OEMs lie in managing the complexity both on the system level and on the overall vehicle level, which also includes the interfaces to the suppliers. In order to manage this complexity, a well-defined requirements engineering process is absolutely essential for both the vehicle functionality and the interaction between OEMs and their suppliers.
