Project puts pastoralists in tke drivers seat

In the February issue of Australian Farm Journal we looked at a dynamic group of farmers from the NSW western division who were part of an Holistic Property-based Management Planning (HPMP) project co-ordinated by myself and Sean Martyn from RCS. Thefirst stage of the project saw the landholders attend a Grazing for Profit school at Mildura in April 2001, then nine properties and their management teams started the graduate link program which is an integral part of the project. During the second stage of the project landholders looked strategically at facilitating family meetings, communication among the management teams, economic business analysis, and wildlife management.
