US beef sustainability talkfest fails to recognise existing initiatives

The global cattle industry and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) gathered in Denver, Colorado, in November to discuss issues surrounding sustainability in the world's beef system and overwhelmingly agreed that increased alignment was necessary and would be beneficial in key areas related to the environment, economics and social issues. Unfortunately, many of the environmental initiatives already practised in conjunction with beef production on farms across Australia and overseas were not picked up and recognised by the conference.
