John Breen has been farming Murray cod in indoor tank systems for a decade or so. But the opportunity to head up the production team at Australia's newest farm was very different. Here was a massive facility, the largest Murray cod farm in the countryoperating the most modern of equipment and slated to produce quantities of cod everyone else could only dream about. Hitherto, most Murray cod farms operating recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS) have been limited by a combination of technology and capacity to 25-40 tonnes per year. This $5m facility was designed for 200t/yr.
