Simultaneous detection of some Yersinia enterocolitica serovars from food and human samples by PCR after IMS-plating.

After the immunomagnetic beads prepared separately for the capture of Yersinia enterocolitica O3, O5,27, O8 and O9 were mixed at an equal ratio, the mixed magnetic bead suspension was used for the simultaneous detection of these serovars by IMS-CIN plating followed by PCR. The proposed method was shown to be capable of detecting specifically and simultaneously O3, O5,27, O8 and O9 from food and faecal samples within 2 days if any of these bacteria were present at more than 100 cfu/ml in the sample suspension..
