The alternative mode of action in a herbicide such as Boxer Gold plays a critical role in allowing growers to preserve the utility oftrifluralin. No constraints from plant back periods and robust early season weed control are also valuable attributes of this pre-emergent herbicide.Developed by Syngenta specifically for Australian conditions, Boxer Gold can be used on wheat and barley - including durum wheat varieties - for the control of trifluralin resistant annual ryegrass. The herbicide also suppresses barley grass."Boxer Gold brought the first new mode of action to the pre-emergent herbicide category for annual ryegrass control in wheat and barley in 30 years," said Paul Chatfield, Syngenta technical lead. "Being a different mode of action to trifluralin, the herbicide provides excellent control of-trifluralin resistant annual ryegrass -particularly in the critical first four to six weeks of crop growth."
