Checking the silo level without leaving the ground

Anew farmer-invention improves the safe operation of grain silos on farms, by eliminating the risk of a fall from height. It is an electronic system which can be built into or retro-fitted to any silo, to give an indication of the level of the grain.For most farmers the only way to accurately tell how much grain is in a silo so it doesn't over-fill, is to climb up the silo ladder. The climb is usually done several times while the silo is being filled and the last climb down is usually in a hurry tostop the filling conveyer before the silo spills over. Wockaz Silo Levalert was invented by two Victorian Wimmera farmers with a keen interest in electronics and an equally keen interest in farm safety. Les and Chris Warrick devised an electronic alert system which gives an indication of the grain level inside a silo. The system comprises two main modules - the level sensor and the computer module. There can be one, two or three level sensors fitted per computer module, at any desired height inside thesilo. The computer module hasthree very bright red lights which flash as the grain level reaches each sensor.
