Milk tankers are involved in many traffic accidents in New Zealand. By April, Fonterra's entire fleet of 480 tanker/trailer units will have had their cladding upgraded in a manner that has been said to push the boundaries of design technology.Each tanker and trailer will be covered with designs made of reflective material. At night, the design will appear as the moon and stars, including the Southern Cross, and will make the tankers visible to other road users as far as 300 metres away. In the morning, the moon will change into the sun, and the stars will fade away to be replaced by blue skies and green pastures.
