After applying the brakes to its historic Windarra nickel project in Western Australia's northeast Goldfields during the global financial crisis, Poseidon Nickel is bringing it back. The company is taking huge strides to resurrect the project and expand the Windarra resource base. The Windarra nickel project is part of Australia's mining folklore as the site of the country's first nickel boom in the 1970s and the subsequent bust.
