A family mindset a strong management team and a culture of innovation have seen Adelaide's La Casa Del Formaqqio qo from strenqth to strength over the past 30 years. Newlyweds Gerardo and Rosa Cicchiello came to Adelaide from southern Italy in 1964. Homesick and missing the food they were used to, in 1984 the pair decided to set up a continental deli in Hectorville, a multicultural suburb just ten minutes'drive from the CBD. The deli sold a range of imported continental products, and fresh ricotta that Rosa made in her kitchen. The cheese became so popular that the couple decided to pursue cheesemaking professionally, and in 1988 they opened the La Casa del Formaggio cheese factory.
