Sales of major retailers down in June

The Japan Department Stores Association reported that nationwide department store sales (99 firms,290 stores) decreased by 2.1% in June from the same month of last year to 650.033 million yen,thus decreasing for 15 consecutive months.Although the decrease was smaller than the previous month,sales of apparel were sluggish due to unseasonable weather.
