Each of you reading this article has a name. Your name is the one or two words thatyou respond to immediately when you hear them spoken, or see them written. They identify you as a unique individual with special characteristics. The same types of expectations accompany a title, such as "forester." One may consider a forester to be a person with some experience in the woods; an individual with training as a technician or technologist; or, as someone with a university degree in forestry. Each definition represents a significantly different skill set, and it is important that the appropriate one be chosen.
