摘要

Marshland farmer brings a dairyman's perspective to the beef business. David Blown has made a couple of career changes, so he knows a few things about adapting to new conditions. Raising beef cattle on a historic homestead just outside Annapolis Royal, N.S. He has a deep respect for tradition, but he also understands the need to innovate -keeping an eye on the future to ensure this farm remains economically and ecologically viable over the long term. Brown grew up here. His parents bought the place in 1947, and ran a dairy operation. As a young man, Brown did not see that as his vocation. He joined the RCMP and served for 20 years in Ontario and Manitoba, only returning to the farm after taking retirement in 1989. He bought out his brother, who wasrunning the operation at that time.
