Asian buyers that had looked to secure LNG indexed to US Henry Hub gas prices are once again favouring oil indexation, Italian energy firm Eni says. The return to oil indexation supports the creation of Eni’s planned liquefaction capacity in Mozambique, as developers had sought to sell shipments from the country on an oilindexed basis. “A lot of companies in Asia that had moved to aggressive Henry Hub pricing have moved back to oil, and that is good for a project like ours, which is oil-linked,” Eni says.
