Chayandinskoye decision nears

Gazprom is closing in on a final invest- ment decision (FID) on developing east Siberia's Chayandinskoye field, the likeliest source of gas for its planned Vladivostok LNG plant. The management committee will discuss the project this month, a com- pany source says. Chief executive Alexei Miller told Russian television this week that the Chayandinskoye FID will be taken by the year's end. Momentum now seems to be building behind the long overdue FID, as Gazprom talks up plans to speed devel- opment of fields in east Siberia and Russia's far east in a bid to boost exports to Asia-Pacific.
