Chemtrade earnings down on lower sulphur, acid prices

Chemtrade Logistics' third quarter earnings were down on lower prices for sulphur and sulphuric acid in its Sulphur Products and Performance Chemicals (SPPC) segment. Re- duced sales volumes and pricing also weighed on the frm's international segment. SPCC's revenue of $146.4mn in the third quarter was down by 15pc on the corresponding period of last year, while earn- ings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) of $39.7mn was up by 2pc in the same period. Risk- shared contracts protected ebitda from lower selling prices for sulphuric acid and sulphur, the company said.
