UK crude producer EnQuest increased output from the Magnus oil field, the largest contributor to Brent blend, by 28 on the year to 16,500 b/d in the first four months of 2023, it said May 24. It comes as volumes of the declining UK flagship crude, loaded in the Shetland Islands, are set for further reduction due to the decommissioning of the Ninian field by Alberta-based Canadian Natural Resources. EnQuest, which specializes in reviving late-life UK fields, reported successful remediation work on three Magnus wells, with further upgrades to come, as well as progress adapting the aging Sullom Voe oil terminal, which it manages, to support a variety of low-carbon projects.
