IEA predicts 'manageable energy future' to 2030

A reference scenario developed by the IEA for its 2006 World Energy Outlook provides a baseline vision of how energy markets are likely to evolve without new government measures to alter underlying energy trends.In this outline of the future to 2030 the global demand for primary energy-defined as that derived from fossil fuels,including coal,nuclear,biomass and renewable sources-is projected to increase by 53% between 2004 and 2030,equivalent to an average annual rate of 1.6%,mostly from developing countries,led by China and India.
