OPEC: oil price ‘not so bad’

Indonesia’s governor to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said that an oil price of US $45/bbl was “not so bad” and that there is no urgency to freeze output if prices stayed around that level. Despite failure to reach a deal to curb oil production and support prices at a meeting on 17 April of OPEC and non- OPEC producers, crude prices have maintained a general upward trend since hitting a 12-year trough in mid-January.
