Shell strikes Malaysia gas

Shell has made a gas discovery with the Rosmari-1 well in Block SK318 offshore Malaysia. The well lies 135km offshore Sarawak, East Malaysia and was drilled to a total depth of 2,123m (6,966ft). The well encountered more than 450m (1,476ft) of gas column. With further exploration planned, the finding is a positive indicator of the gas potential in an area of strategic interest for Shell, said the Anglo Dutch major.
