China’s Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore (CIMC Raffles) has won a deal to construct a jack-up rig for Sinopec. Upon delivery, CIMC Raffles said the rig, which will be able to drill in water depths of up to 91m (300ft), will be operated by Sinopec Shengli Petroleum Engineering. CIMC Raffes said that the newbuild jackup would be capable of drilling to depths of up to 9,144m (30,000ft) and accommodate 120 people.
