With two acquisitions under its belt and healthy market conditions forecast for its main products through most of 2005,Honam Petrochemical has reasons enough to be optimistic.Honam acquired Hyundai Petrochemical jointly with LG Chem in 2003 and independently bought KP Chemical,a paraxylene,purified terephthalic acid,and polyethylene terephthalate producer,last year.Hyundai was split into three companies after its sale,with Honam taking control of a 650 000 tonnne/year cracker and a number of derivative units in Daesan,South Korea;Honam's new company has been named Lotte Daesan Petrochemical.
