The effects of substituents and solvents on the UV-visible spectra of 5-(quinolinylmethylene)barbituric acid derivatives have been investigated.Heterocyclic compounds and their.derivatives are commonly used in various fields of industry as analytical reagents,ligands,dyestuffs,pharmaceuticals and bioindicators.
