In this paper we present a scenario-based approach for designing aneLearning system, specifically targeted towards the secondary school education.The key concept underlying our approach is focused on the application of threemodels – domain model, user model and pedagogical model – which influence thelearning process. They have been developed on the basis of the analysis of theexisting lessons used for the Mathematics subject. We also present the agent-oriented environment VESSI (Virtual Environment for Secondary SchoolInstruction) to show the practical applicability of the proposed approach.
