Tesoro exercises discrimination over ESPO Blend

US refiner Tesoro will only occasionally take Russian ESPO Blend crude if prices are attractive, president and chief execu- tive Greg Goff says. The firm has no plans to buy ESPO Blend on term con- tracts or adjust its purchases of Latin American or domestic ANS crude to run more ESPO Blend, Goff says. Tesoro has taken only three ESPO Blend cargoes to its refineries in Hawaii and on the US west coast this year. Cono- coPhillips, Chevron, Shell and BP also take cargoes to the US (AGM, 2 May, p3).
