After a little hesitation,Washington has agreed to embark on a stragey of step-by-step rapprochment with Libya,following the dramtic decision taken by Colonel Gadhafi to end the country's efforts to acquire and develop weapons of mass destruction-nuclear,biological and chemical-and to authorize the destruction of materials and equipment associated with its WMD programs,as well as to furnish a wealth of intelligence about the suppliers that enabled Libya to implement these programs.
