Following the Start-Up of Qatargas 4, All the Country's LNG Trains Are Now Operational

Qatargas announced on 9 February that, following the commissioning of train 7 of Qatargas 4 (QG4), it has become the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer, with total capacity of 42 million tons/year through seven liquefaction trains. This was a significant milestone for Qatar, said the new Minister of Energy and Chairman of Qatargas, Mr. Mohammed Saleh al-Sada, pointing out that "all 14 trains are now producing LNG." QG4 has a capacity of 7.8 million tons/year and will be exporting to new LNG markets. Qatargas points out that, in addition to its principal export market, which is the United States, QG4 has already signed sales agreements with China and Dubai. QG4 is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (70%) and Royal Dutch Shell (30%).
