Start-Up of Qatargas II Train 5 Will Boost Qatargas' LNG Output to 25 Million Tons/Year by the End of 2009

Qatargas, Exxon Mobil Corporation and Total announced on 9 September that commissioning of train 5 of the Qatargas liquefaction complex, developed by Qatargas II, had been completed and that the unit had entered production. It has a capacity of 7.8 million tons/year and Qatargas says it will boost its total LNG output to 25 million tons/year by the end of 2009. The shareholders in train 5 are Qatar Petroleum (QP - 65%), ExxonMobil (18.3%) and Total (16.7%).
