Uncertainties Over the Fate of Oil Development Agreements Signed Under the Regime of Saddam Hussein

Iraqi government officials have voiced differing opinions recently on the subject of oil field development agreements signed under the regime of Saddam Hussein.The government has considered some of them to be no longer valid for a number of years already,such as the one signed with a consortium of Russian companies led by Lukoil for the development of the Qurna West field.
