EGPC Launches its First International Exploration Bid Round for 2005,Offering 13 Blocks

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) has launched its first international exploration bid round of this year - International 2005 Bid Round-1 - in which 13 blocks covering a total area of 33,058.40 sq km are on offer.All the tracts have already been explored and wells have been drilled on all of them.The closing date for bids is 13 February 2006.Three of the tracts are located in the Gulf of Suez region (two of them offshore),four in the Eastern Desert and the other six in the Western Desert.
