State Budget for Fiscal Years 2007 and 2008 Promulgated by the King Projects a Deficit of 1 Billion

The state budget for fiscal years 2007 and 2008,which was promulgated by the King on 20 July,forecasts total revenues of BD 3.35 billion(8.88 billion)-BD 1.66 billion in 2007 andBD 1.69 billion in 2008.Expenditure is estimated at BD 3.73 billion,of which BD 1.85 billion is budgeted for 2007 and BD 1.87 billion for 2008.A total deficit of BD 378 million(1 billion)is thus projected,which is less than half the shortfall of BD 909 million anticipated in the original draft budget submitted by the government in June(AOG,1 July,2006).
