In the course of a meeting with South Korea's new Ambassador to Sanaa on 21 August, the Yemeni Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Salem Basindra, set the cat among the pigeons by calling for an end to "corruption" in his country's sale of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Asian market. The LNG is marketed by Yemen LNG and is sold under long-term contracts concluded with Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas), GDF Suez and Total Gas & Power. Annual sales total some 6.7 million tons/year.
